Valentine’s Day is a huge day for the restaurant industry. This may be less so for the bartenders standing behind the empty bar, while romantic couples sit at their candle lit tables for two… but it’s nonetheless an exciting day! Most restaurants take all of their available seating for that holiday and make every table a table for two.
Not too many couples decide to come in and sit at the bar. The big responsibility for the bartenders on Valentine’s day is to come up with a special one-night-only cocktail menu for the occasion. This is one of the most fun parts of my job as a virtual cocktail designer. When couples, friends, or even work teams are getting together virtually to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a cocktail, I wanted to make sure that we really captured the vibe of romance of the holiday.
Obviously, we had to have a red drink on the menu. Introducing the February Cocktail of the Month: The Full Hearts. This is a sweet and tart fruity cocktail, with a nice balance of ingredients and flavors with a tart kick from the cranberry and raspberry.
Full Hearts Recipe
- 1.5 Vodka
- 1 oz Cranberry Juice
- 0.5 oz Lime Juice
- 0.5 oz Raspberry Syrup
As far as the February drink menu goes, we also created a decadent rich and boozy dessert cocktail: the German Chocolate Martini. German chocolate cake is a rich chocolate cake having both dark chocolate and coconut. And let’s be honest… it wouldn’t be a celebration without something that’s sparkling, so the Valentine’s Bouquet cocktail has a pinch of edible glitter to give it that wow factor. It has a beautiful aromatic elderflower balanced with a touch of sweetness.
Lucky for you, this delicious menu isn’t a one night only creation. We will be offering these three drinks all month for February during our virtual events! Be sure to make it a special occasion and book an event with Cocktails From Home. If you make these drinks at home, let us know how it went! Tag us on Instagram, we’d love to see how you’re shaking things up with our recipes!
